COMMISSION
Private Commissions By Matthew Seed | Worldwide
An exclusive private commission with Matthew Seed offers a rare chance to collaborate with a visionary artist and acquire a signature piece that transcends mere photography, becoming a coveted heirloom and a definitive fine art statement to last a lifetime.
INTRODUCTION
Commissioning Matthew Seed to photograph your horse is a step towards owning a unique & very personal piece of peerless work.
In the world of fine art photography, Matthew Seed is acknowledged as the leading practitioner in equine portraits. His work, which has been exhibited at home and abroad, has earned favourable comparisons with those of history’s leading painters, including George Stubbs and Théodore Géricault, who have chosen to make the beauty of horses their principal theme.
Matthew’s artistic approach is the product of true craftsmanship. A mastery of the camera and lighting honed over more than three decades and an even longer affinity with his equine subjects mean that he is able to realise truly exclusive pieces in the blink of an eye, using a pioneering and skilful mix of natural and artificial light without relying on post production software.
It is no wonder then that he is commissioned by royals and celebrities across the globe to capture a lasting and unique impression of the majesty of the horse.
THE PROCESS
The commission begins with an initial consultation to determine your specific criteria or preferences for the artworks.
A date is then arranged with you or your stables for the photography commission to take place.
Matthew Seed and his assistant travel to your location to undertake the commission, weather permitting. If the weather is inclement and there is no suitable indoor option, the commission date would be rescheduled.
Following the commission, Matthew will curate his selection of fine art photographs to present to you at your home.
At the viewing, Matthew will assist you in selecting your favourite photograph and advise on fine art printing options and framing. Matthew has a signature style, which is included in the Private Commission fee. However, all artworks are completely bespoke and can be printed & framed to your specific requirements, with a quotation provided for any additional investment.
On completion of your artwork, we will arrange delivery to your chosen location. Installation can also be arranged, and a quotation will be provided upon request.
